    Job summary

    The Estates & Safety Facilitator will ensure that the Practice continues to implement and adhere to strict policies, procedures, and risk assessments in line with relevant legislation and guidelines to ensure the safety of its patients, staff, and other visitors. They will be responsible for maintaining records relating to the above.

    The post holder will also be responsible for reviewing the condition of the Practice estate spaces, including presenting recommendations to the Business Manager and Partners for improvement and/or maintenance as required.

    The post holder will report to the Practice Business Manager and will be required to work flexibly across the demands of the job.

    It should be noted that the under mentioned duties and responsibilities do not cover the whole spectrum of activities and these may change from time to time.

    Main duties of the job

  • Implement and maintain a schedule of health and safety audits across the sites including but not limited to Fire Risk/Safety, Legionella, Asbestos Surveys, Site Health & Safety Plans, Electrical Assessments and Inspections, Accessibility Assessments.
  • Support the Practice Quality Lead with compliance with the Infection Prevention and Control Policies.
  • Liaise with Practice contractors such as cleaning to ensure compliance across the sites.
  • Create and maintain a maintenance log for the sites and recommend improvements/repairs as required.
  • Gain quotations for work required and seek to ensure the Practice is as green as possible as well as cost effective.
  • Seek to improve the Practices resilience by way of improving on fail safes and safety netting for equipment failure.
  • Support the Operations Lead regarding the calibration of Nursing equipment.

  • Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Desirable

  • GCSE's Grade A*-C in Maths & English
  • Any professional qualifications in Health and Safety or Risk Assessment.
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Good people skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people.
  • Experience of dealing with the public/patients
  • Experience of completing risk assessments
  • Ability to work independently
  • Broad understanding of legislation around Health & Safety
