- Create aerospace composite structures and components, considering performance, weight, manufacturability, and cost
- Participate in the selection and qualification of composite materials, like fibres, resins, and core materials, based on mechanical properties, environmental impact, and meeting regulations.
- Develop test plans and procedures to verify composite structure performance and reliability via mechanical tests, including tensile, compression, flexural, and fatigue tests.
- Analyse test data and provide recommendations for design improvements or material selection based on test results
- Support manufacturing processes by offering technical guidance in composite layup, curing, bonding, and inspection methods.
- Contribute to the development of best practices, standards, and guidelines for composite design and testing
- Bachelor's/ Master's degree in Materials Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related STEM field
- Proficient in composite materials, manufacturing, and structural mechanics.
- Experience using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventors)
- Knowledge of FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN)
- Great communication skills and teamwork ability.
- Must be willing to work in a dynamic teamwork-oriented environment
- Valid passport, including right to work in the UK
