    Ultimate Tech Leader at Ultimate Tech Camps - Headington Prep School, Oxford

    £110.41 - £127.33 (Including Holiday Pay)

    Enhancing school breaks

    Reporting to: Camp Manager

    Contract: Seasonal position during summer school breaks.

    Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.30am – 5.30pm (except Mondays when an 8am start is required to set up for the week with paid overtime)

    Position Overview

    The Ultimate Tech Leader plays a crucial role in delivering our Ultimate Tech program, ensuring children's safety and well-being at all times. We seek passionate and skilled professionals to uphold our commitment to 'Inspire Children Every Day'.

    As an Ultimate Tech Leader, your responsibilities include providing exceptional technology and coding activities for groups of 8- to 14-year-olds at our camps. You will lead, motivate, and guide your Tech Instructors in delivering engaging activities for the children.

    Your role involves enforcing all policies and procedures, communicating with parents, school representatives, and Head Office when necessary. In addition to leading sessions, you and your colleagues contribute to maintaining high standards of care at the Ultimate Activity Company. A Camp Manager will be present on-site to assist with care and parent-related matters.

    Roles & Obligations

    • Plan and conduct tech activities for 8-14-year-olds, focusing on participation, skill enhancement, and enjoyment.
    • Supervise a team of staff to ensure they deliver the expected level of care and activities.
    • Ensure compliance with all camp policies, including health and safety regulations and safeguarding procedures. This may involve implementing new protocols to maintain a safe camp environment.
    • Engage with and supervise children outside of scheduled activities.
    • Handle administrative tasks and serve as the primary contact for parents of camp attendees.
    • Uphold the promise of 'Inspiring Children Every Day' and maintain a professional demeanor throughout your employment.
    • Demonstrate the necessary energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, acting as a representative of Ultimate Activity Camps and a positive role model for children.
    • Perform additional duties as required (such as equipment maintenance and ordering).

    Key Requirements

    • Qualified or pursuing qualifications in IT teaching, Computer Science, or Digital Media (with programming skills). Alternatively, self-taught individuals with demonstrated programming knowledge, particularly in JavaScript or Python, and a portfolio.
    • Dynamic individual with experience working with children and a passion for nurturing their IT skills, capable of adjusting delivery based on age and skill levels.
    • Natural leader with management experience, preferably in IT education or holiday camp settings.
    • Effective communicator with strong customer service skills, able to interact confidently with parents and school personnel.
    • Problem-solving abilities and patience are vital. You may need to assist multiple individuals with similar issues one-on-one and must guide them through challenges with enthusiasm.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Hold a Paediatric First Aid certification (6 or 12 hours) or be willing to obtain one through the Ultimate Activity Company.
