    Job Title: Exciting Opportunity for a Risk Manager at AWE

    AWE is seeking an exceptional Risk Manager to join the dynamic Warhead Replacement team and collaborate closely with the Programme Lead. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in advising on various risks, identifying potential threats, and developing strategies to prevent and address issues that could impact our mission delivery.

    Location: Based in Berkshire RG7 4PR, conveniently located between Reading, Basingstoke, and Newbury with onsite parking and accessible public transport services.

    Salary: Starting at £41,840 with room for negotiation for the right candidate with relevant experience.

    Joining as a Risk Manager, you will lead risk, opportunity, and issue management for the Replacement Warhead Programme, a critical component of national defense. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with diverse professionals, ensuring the successful completion of our mission - making it one of the most significant projects you can be a part of.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Delivering a consolidated view of total risk exposure for relevant projects
    • Embedding risk, opportunity, and issue processes
    • Assessing and analyzing risks
    • Developing strategies to mitigate identified risks
    • Maintaining program risk registers
    • Actively managing risk mitigation actions
    • Creating contingency plans for crisis management
    • Providing strategic risk insight and thinking
    • Assisting in managing an end-to-end risk profile
    • Understanding business financial models at program level

    Requirements:

    • Experience in risk management within a Systems Engineering environment
    • Strong communication and resilience
    • Ability to challenge stakeholders constructively
    • Familiarity with risk mitigation strategies
    • Proficiency in Risk Database software and Quantitative Risk Analysis

    Qualifications and Memberships:

    • Management of Risk (MOR) certification or equivalent
    • Knowledge of project controls processes
    • Experience with Risk Database software such as Active Risk Manager (ARM)
    • Proficiency in Quantitative Risk Analysis software
