- Design new and improve existing risk processes and MI that is aligned to the AXA UK ERMF and meets the AXA UK Board's and Regulator's expectations.
- Provide, support and challenge on how the Commercial business' key risks and controls are being identified, assessed, managed, monitored and reported spanning different risk categories.
- Co-ordinate and carry out targeted reviews of AXA Commercial's core risk processes and MI to ensure they remain effective and within agreed risk maturity benchmarks.
- Undertake thematic reviews of the AXA Commercial risk profile, including risk deep dives and input into scenario workshops.
- Direct and co-ordinate quarterly risk and control assessment reviews and review/challenge the completeness and accuracy of the outputs to drive improvements.
- To facilitate and drive action planning for emerging risk identification and assessment.
- To challenge the status quo and find pragmatic and proportionate solutions to ensure risk management is being effectively embedded and used by AXA Commercial's people.
- Working alongside the wider AXA Commercial leadership teams to identify and lead solutions to continuously improve business processes and controls.
- Working knowledge of Commercial Insurance is essential coupled with how to apply risk management to the Commercial business.
- Demonstrable experience and knowledge in at least two of the following: operational and conduct risk, IT and operational resilience risk, insurance risk and financial risk all in the context of a large scale financial services company.
- Demonstrable knowledge of PRA and FCA requirements and expectations of what good governance and risk management looks like in the context of the general insurance sector.
- Good understanding of a risk framework, the underlying components and experience in evaluating what successful embedding of that framework should look like.
- In-depth understanding of risk and control assessment and assurance techniques along with experience in their application.
- Experience of providing risk advice and direction into change projects and business operations that influences and drives better risk outcomes.
- Commercial awareness and pragmatism that drives agreement to solutions with appropriate risk/reward outcomes.
- Ability to process, collate, and present findings in a clear and consistent manner.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, while working collaboratively with the business.
- Previous people management experience, including coaching of others to support their development.

Description
Our AXA Commercial Risk team are a first line risk function fully embedded in the business. As Enterprise Risk Manager, your expertise and knowledge will support, direct and influence the Commercial business' senior managers and their teams. You'll embed the use of the AXA UK enterprise risk management framework (ERMF) and continually assess the effectiveness of this through relationship management, control, MI and process reviews. You'll combine expertise in risk management practices and methods and will be instrumental in defining new and continually improving existing risk processes, risk MI and insight to support our Commercial people in effectively identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting on its risk performance.
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home at your local office.
