    Publicity Manager – Ebury (12 Month FTC)

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Publicity Manager to join the award-winning, dynamic Ebury 'Smart Hub' to cover a period of secondment at an exciting moment of growth and momentum for the UK's largest dedicated non-fiction publisher. This is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract from July.

    About Ebury
    Ebury is the home of non-fiction at Penguin Random House. Our Smart Hub is an audience-focused team working across innovative and world-changing publishing lists on imprints WH Allen, Witness Books, Ebury Edge and Ebury Press.

    Within this non-fiction team we publish prizewinning bestsellers by global leading writers, thinkers and cultural figures, including: James O'Brien, Steven Bartlett, Caitlin Moran, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Maria Ressa, Michael Rosen, Zeinab Badawi, David Attenborough, Michaela Coel, Dara McAnulty, Adam Grant, and so many others

    As part of the Ebury Communications team and the Smart Hub, you'll help take our books to new audiences, working closely with authors, agents, editors, marketing, sales and international to deliver engaging, stand-out campaigns.

    The Opportunity
    We are looking for an experienced publicist for a 12-month contract to cover a period of secondment. Joining a team of 4 to the Smart Hub campaigns team, you'll will get to work with some of the most creative publishing colleagues in the business in a friendly and inclusive environment. You will be involved in every stage of the publishing process from early acquisitions meetings to devising and executing campaign plans and much more.

    You can expect to:

    • Independently create, plan and drive strategic media and events campaigns for an array of titles across our non-fiction list,
    • Play an important role in the acquisition of new books, providing PR feedback in New Projects meetings and acquisitions, and contributing to and attending pitches to acquire new talent,
    • Contribute to the Smart hub's strategic priorities and work closely with its editorial publishing team,
    • Communicate effectively with internal departments, including sales and marketing, editorial, rights and international colleagues, and
    • Maintain, develop and seek out new relationships with high-profile and influential stakeholders, such as media, bookshops and events partners

    What you'll bring

    You'll have a proven track record of independently producing standout publicity campaigns in a creative or media environment. With experience of creating and delivering successful strategic media campaigns that connect with audiences, you will be confident writing engaging press materials, organising and attending large scale events, and will be an enthusiastic networker with the media.

    You'll also:

    • Have excellent communication skills and be confident pitching and presenting internally and externally,
    • Be well networked with media contacts and be knowledgeable and curious about all forms of media and what turns the dial,
    • Be highly organised with excellent prioritisation to juggle concurrent campaigns with different lead times,
    • Demonstrate analytical ability and financial awareness for your campaigns with a close attention to budget, and
    • Think in innovative and creative ways to create buzz behind our book, always with your eye on the activity that truly drives book sales, finds new audiences and meets campaign objectives

    Salary : Circa £35,000 depending on how your skills and experience align with the role, plus bonus and benefits.

    Hybrid working: We're experimenting with a hybrid way of working that suits the needs of each team. While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role, some meetings will need to be attended in person at our offices in Pimlico on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Please note that over the course of 2024 all of our London-based teams will permanently relocate to our Embassy Gardens office in Nine Elms .
