    Public Affairs Manager - London, United Kingdom - Legal & General

    Description

    We're recruiting for a Public Affairs Managerto join us. You will help deliver Legal & General's engagement programme with government, parliamentarians, and policymakers; provide political analysis to support the Group in making strategic decisions; and help ensure Legal & General's role as a thought leader is both recognised and enhanced.

    What you'll be doing:

  • Effectively monitoring the landscape for emerging political and public policy developments, evaluating the strategic relevance, and communicating effectively to the relevant internal stakeholders
  • Helping to identify public policy risks and opportunities, supporting the Public Affairs team in delivering an effective public policy management framework, including a CEO policy dashboard
  • Supporting the delivery of a measurement and evaluation framework for our external reputation
  • Proactively helping the Public Affairs team to develop a policy agenda that support our new corporate strategy
  • Providing timely political analysis and briefings on relevant topics, supporting our Group CEO and other senior business leaders to communicate our policy positions externally
  • Representing L&G externally to key stakeholders
  • Supporting the Senior Public Affairs Manager in creating a strategy for engagement and research that is aligned to our business priorities
  • Helping to ensure that the Public Affairs team has effectively responded to a range of returns to public bodies that it is responsible for, and ensuring all correspondence is in line with our consumer duty accountability

    Qualifications

    Who we're looking for:

  • Extensive knowledge of the current UK political landscape
  • An understanding of the asset management sector and its policy challenges would be an advantage
  • Previous experience of working with governments, parliamentarians, trade bodies, and think tanks
  • Previous experience of managing public policy risks and issues and providing advice to senior internal stakeholders
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills
