    Description
    Are you an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor or HSE Lead?
    NHS Professionals has an exciting opportunity, to join our HSE team and support us to achievegreatness.

    this position will be based in our Hemel Hempstead office Monday and Friday and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will involve travel to Trust sites, that are located across the North and South.

    This role sits within the Commercial and Procurement Team, and reports into the Health, Safety and Environmental Manager.

    An overview of the role is tobe responsible for maintaining and improving the Health, Safety and Environmental management systems (and their key supporting business systems) to ensure environmental legal compliance is maintained and quality is maximised, including managing non-conformances and audit findings to reduce business risk.

    Implementing of any new legislation relating to health and safety.
    Facilitating all forms of risk assessment - manual handling, fire risk assessments / fire prevention, COSHH.
    Completing occupational health and safety surveys - noise, light.
    Performing annual H&S audits and Quality Assurance.
    Ensuring suppliers perform in accordance with accreditations such as CHAS and Safe Contractor.
    Support HSE Manager in maintaining the environmental legal compliance register.
    To support the HSE Manager maintain NHSP ISO 14001 accreditation.
    To ensure Trust services site risk assessments are complete each year.
    Ensure all First Aider and Fire Marshall responsibilities are carried out as per agreed policy and procedures.

    Environmental improvement:

    Taking lead at NHSP towards greener, more efficient estate including energy performance improvements as well as implementing a plan which ensures a more environmentally friendly and conscious approach to running our services.

    Ensure all risk assessments at corporate offices are up to date and reviewed as required.

    To act in accordance with NHS Professional's Equality and Diversity Policy, this is designed to prevent discrimination of any kind.

    Ensure that all duties are carried out in line with NHS Professional's Health and Safety Policy.
    Risk Management.
    Responsibility for reporting complaints, incidents and near misses through the Complaints and Incidents Management System (CIMS).
    Responsibility for attending health and safety training as required.
    Responsibility for assisting in risk assessments.
