About The Vacancy
We are looking for a Bid Manager to join our team responsible for the management of the bidding process.
The role and principal responsibilities are as follows:
Research, review, evaluate and understand the requirements of identified tender opportunities
Provide and write quality answers for pre-qualification , supplier approval and tender documents to meet submission requirements – including general technical submissions
Identify requirements for, and manage, the contributions of others (where necessary) supporting the bid to ensure timely delivery of best quality responses
Provide a link between the estimators/finance and technical/delivery team (where specialist knowledge is required), ensuring tender documents are understood and responded to correctly, in accordance with the bid strategy
Obtain feedback on successful and unsuccessful PQQs and tenders and deliver to colleagues to use to improve future submissions
Manage an effective and easy to use bid information library
Provide management information on bidding activity – won, lost, pending
Set up and "champion" bidding principals
Chair "bid/no bid" and bid planning meetings
Design, develop and deliver (or co-deliver) presentations included in a bid process
Manage a small bidding team
About The Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:
Significant bidding experience (ideally within construction, utilities/regulatory business, facility management and/or public sector)
Degree-level education (desirable but not essential)
Extensive experience of commercial tendering process and associated activities
Experience in writing and production of high-quality narrative to tight deadlines
Excellent oral and written English
Proven ability to structure information, articulate bid strategies, identify win themes etc.
Strong ability to organise, plan and prioritise work
Strong communication skills and ability to liaise and develop relationships with wide range of people (internal and external)
Has advanced Microsoft Word and Microsoft presentation packages experience
Be flexible for occasional late working/meeting bid deadlines
Excellent research experience and abilities
Positive, problem solving mind set with a strong work ethic and a flexible approach
Creative – looks for innovation in presentation
