We have an exciting opportunity within the Retirement Living team based in Coventry leading a small team of Officers and overseeing the management of our over 55s Retirement Living schemes in Coventry and ensuring that the Retirement Living service continues to meet high standards of service.


We are looking for someone who has experience of leading a small team with the skills to develop a positive and collaborative team ethos, able to advise, coach and support team members as appropriate, inspiring and encouraging continuous improvement to ensure that a quality service is delivered to our customers.


In addition to undertaking the role of team leader you will also be directly responsible for the management of a retirement living scheme, as well as providing oversight of the management of other schemes by the team.

You will manage the health and safety of the building and its surrounds through regular building safety checks, and support residents to live safely, identifying ways to maximise their wellbeing and independence within their own homes and as part of the wider scheme community.

You will be responsible for developing a sociable and active community, ensuring that customers can thrive as part of an independent living setting for over 55s.

You will need a blend of empathy, tact, negotiation, creativity, and professionalism to deliver a successful customer-focused service.


As a minimum we need you to have:

  • The ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Experience of working with vulnerable people or in partnership with stakeholder agencies that provide support to vulnerable groups.
  • General understanding of key health and safety risks in older persons accommodation settings
  • Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding issues, particularly in relation to older people; able to recognise and take responsibility for reporting risks and finding appropriate mitigations and solutions to support customers.
