- To demonstrate a commitment to best practice in all aspects of child development and work with Bright Start Early Years Teams and other partners to embed the best practice in Islington and Whittington Health as a whole.
- To demonstrate and develop evidence-based knowledge, attitudes, and skills to be able to be an expert resource for Bright Start teams, in particular in the area of Nurse prescribing and managing minor ailments.
- To assess local need and to plan, coordinate and deliver training programmes and workshops to Bright Start staff, and others as appropriate, to promote best practice standards in all aspects of the Nurse prescribing and managing minor ailments.
- To work with other specialist colleagues such as pharmacists, nurse prescriber leads and public health to develop integrated protocols which support the Nurse prescribing and managing minor ailments.
- To provide expertise and support to Family Health Advisors and Health Visitors working with families.
- To be responsible for the delivery of Healthy Child programme within the Bright Start area.
- Health Visiting Professional Qualification, with entry onto the 3rd part of the NMC Register. (Minimum 1 year qualified)
- V100 Nurse Prescriber
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Leadership modules (L6/7)
- V300 Nurse prescriber
- Excellent communication skills: IT written and oral.
- Evidence of teaching
- Willingness to lead and support management of change.
- Knowledge of current legislation and national guidance relating to all aspects of the Healthy Child Programme
- Evidence of application of high levels of knowledge and skills relating to the issues and concerns relating to managing minor ailments and nurse prescribing
- Knowledge of how to structure and deliver a training programme and/or supervision at all staff levels.
- Understanding of the safeguarding process and child protection procedures, clinical governance arrangements and the ability to make decisions in these areas.
- Ability to manage other members of staff and delegate work appropriately and safely
- Ability to set personal and team objectives and manage time, priorities and stressful situations.

If so, our Bright Start Islington Integrated Service has a Health Visitor Clinical Lead Vacancy for Nurse Prescribing and Managing Minor Ailments.
This exciting new post involves working as a Health Visitor in one of our integrated teams and working as a Clinical Lead Health Visitor focussing on nurse prescribing and managing minor ailments. This role is a fantastic development opportunity which will enable you to get involved to shape and deliver on the local strategy.
You will be working within the Health Visiting Team alongside the Clinical Specialists who will support your own practice.
This role supports Health Visitors to feel confident in nurse prescribing and managing minor ailments within the Bright start health visiting teams to reduce accident and emergency attendances.
