    Working in the Planning Discipline of Integrated Project Controls, under the direction and leadership of the IPC Planning Manager, to establish, develop and maintain Project schedules / plans for either the Central Controls Team or one of the Programme Controls Teams.

    This will include the timely and accurate maintenance of the Integrated Work Schedule (IWS) in adherence with HPC processes, management of Level 3 (contract) schedules, and provision of time-related data and analysis.

    To assist and support the Central Controls Team when required to ensure alignment with the Level 2 (client)

    IWS. It is the overarching objective of the Integrated Project Controls (IPC) Function to act as a centre of excellence:

    the intelligent owners of the single source of delivery performance information, operating as an integrated enabler for the successful delivery of the HPC Project.

    Project Execution & Business Plan – describes the delivery strategy for the Project;
    Project Delivery Model – signposts readers to key procedures;
    Integrated Project Controls Manual – how work is undertaken in the Integrated Project Controls Function;
    The Nuclear environment is highly regulated by the Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR);
    Nuclear Safety Culture is of paramount importance to the Project and embedded throughout.
    Planning Discipline;
    Other Integrated Project Controls Disciplines (Cost, Estimating, Risk, Performance Measurement & Analysis, Project Controls Managers (PCMs));
    Project & Programme Managers;

    Contracts:
    The jobholder will manage a number of Project contracts that will vary in size and complexity.
    Ensure alignment of data between Planning and other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls;

    The jobholder will maintain Project data within their area of work and will be expected to identify local issues and suggest resolutions or changes.

    The jobholder's line manager will be accountable for the data and decisions will be referred upwards accordingly.

    Support the IPC Planning Manager and/or PCM in the implementation and maintenance of Integrated Project Controls processes for Planning, including the production of monthly reports, through the provision of intelligent information and analysis;
    Collaborate with other Disciplines of Integrated Project Controls, as well as other Project Support Functions, to help deliver Project goals in keeping with the HPC principles of Trust, Transparency and Teamwork;
    Ensure the Level 2 IWS is updated to an agreed timeframe for monthly reporting;
    Ensure the HPC Level 3 schedules are updated when required to reflect work progress and performance, to an agreed timeframe defined by the Central Controls Team;
    Ensure that contractor schedules are produced in accordance with HPC processes and ensure that they align to the IWS forecast position;
    Maintain daily and weekly work planning in 4D model;
    Provide quality checks on the Scheduling data;
    Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis of schedule impact, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities;
    Adhere to Project governance and Scheduling standards and procedures;

    Ensure all Project documents, in particular Sensitive Nuclear Information, are correctly protectively marked, and protected in accordance with EDF policies and procedures.

    Hinkley Point C is a circa £20bn project;
    This role will involve working in either the Central Controls Team, which is the sub-division of the Integrated Project Controls Function that operates at Project level, or an integrated multi-disciplinary delivery team for one of the six Programmes (Civils, Nuclear Island, Conventional Island, Equipment, Commissioning, or Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC);
    The role reports to the Lead Planning Engineer, who in turn reports to either the IPC Planning Manager (Central) or to the PCM for the Programme with a functional report to the IPC Planning Manager;
    Understanding of other Disciplines of Project Controls (particularly Estimating, Cost and Risk) including management techniques and associated software;
    ~ Understanding of earned value analysis;
    ~ Understanding of various contract types, in particular the NEC suite and FIDIC;
    ~ Working knowledge of schedule risk analysis techniques;
    ~ Good commercial awareness;
    ~ Working knowledge of French and/or Chinese languages an advantage.
    ~ Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Construction or other related field;
    ~ Proven relevant experience in a Project Management or Project Controls environment in a similar Scheduling role;
    ~ Experience in the use of scheduling software, ideally Primavera P6 version 7 and above.
    ~ Degree in Engineering, Construction or other related field;
    ~ Experience of commercial contracting;
    ~ Experience of working over the full lifecycle of a project;
    ~ Experience on a major construction project;
    ~ Experience in the Nuclear sector.
    ~ Key Competencies The jobholder will be expected to have a working level of knowledge of, and to use, the following (or similar equivalent) software tools:
    ~ Acumen Fuse (Schedule Analysis);
    ~ Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access);
    ~ The HPC Project Controls team operate or interface with the following key systems and a working knowledge of these systems would be an advantage:
    ~ ARM (Risks, Opportunities, Trends);
    ~@risk (QCRA);
    ~ Acumen Fuse (Schedule Analysis);
    ~ Power BI (Business Intelligence Analytics);
    ~ SAP (Financial);
    ~ Ability to innovate, think laterally and tackle new areas of business risk and opportunity;
    ~ Understand and comply with rules and guidance about protecting sensitive Project data;
    ~ Striving for quality and excellence;
    ~ Willingness to help with ad-hoc or one-off tasks;
    ~ Minimum 5 years' experience as a planner working on large mechanical installation projects.
    ~ Able to extract/compare/analyse data.
    ~ Appropriate sustained experience over project lifecycle engineering, manufacturing and construction)
    ~ General understanding of Project Controls and the link between Schedule, Cost & Risk
    ~ Minimum 10 years MEH experience working on large scale infrastructure/ industrial
    Projects
    Qualification in Mechanical Engineering (Preferred)
