We have an exciting opportunity for a Primary Care Nurse to join our Primary Care team at HMP Doncaster, a category B local resettlement prison situated in South Yorkshire. Doncaster houses a male population of up to 1145 individuals, approximately 200 of whom are young offenders aged 18-20.

Hours

The site currently offers a 24-hour service and shift patterns which include:

Days - 07:00-20:30

Nights - 19:00-07:30

Lates - 10:00 -22:30

This position is full time, youll receive an annual salary up to 38,115 per annum - depending on experience.

Main duties of the job

As a Primary Care Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:

Undertake medication rounds and dispense controlled medication

Deliver and lead clinics, undertake examinations and tests to your patient group

Respond to emergency bells and potentially being the first person to attend an emergency

Work within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospital admissions

Qualifications required

NMC registered nurse Adult

Evidence of Continued Professional Development

Understanding of the complexities of multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working

A non-judgmental and compassionate approach

Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety, QOF, EBP and national standards

Although not essential ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community or prison environment.

Job responsibilities

As a Primary Care Nurse you will work within amulti-disciplinary team to deliver a nurse led service and prevent hospitaladmissions. You will undertakemedication rounds, dispense controlled medication, attend emergency responsesituations, assess patients, and undertake reception screening. You will use your skills and knowledge todeliver nurse led clinics to your patient group whilst being supported by amulti-disciplinary team.
