    Description

    An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced midwife whocan do ANY HOURS they choose to join the RCM Award-WinningVulnerable Women's Team at Whipps Cross Hospital.

    We are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and reliable midwives who are passionate about creating excellent birthing experiences for women with complex social factors providing Midwifery Continuity of Care/r(MCOC) to join the Ruby Team.

    The team of midwives will work collaboratively with the MDT, to support women during the intrapartum and inpatient period.

    The Ruby Team Caseloads and provides Midwifery Care to women who suffer with Moderate to Severe Mental Health Issues, Victims of DomesticAbuse, Teenage Pregnancies, Learning Disabilities, Asylum Seekers with no support, Substance Misuse, Complex Safeguarding Issues etc.

    International applicants with no UK NMC registration will not be considered for this vacancy

    NMC Registered Midwife- minimum 2 years post Registration
    Experience/knowledge of safeguarding issues in maternity/children's setting

    NIPE Trained Attended cultural awareness course

    The ability to communicate with patients/women in an empathetic manner regarding their treatment and procedures in their care.
    Can show a non-judgemental approach to patient care.
    Good understanding and experience with safeguarding policies and working with vulnerable families
    Understanding of cultural diversity
    Ability to record and report back accurately and fully on patient assessments undertaken and risks identified.

    Experience of attending a variety of safeguarding meetings e.g., Discharge planning, CIN ,Core Group, STRAT, Professionals etc

    Can demonstrate knowledge of current and emerging health care issues.
    Ability to evaluate effectiveness of quality improvements and develop actions plans identifying improvements.
    Ability to identify and act when own or other's undermines equality and diversity.
    Understand and able to follow key safeguarding legislation and guidance

    Knowledge of current and emerging NHS strategy and policy

    Able to work autonomously and deal with obstetric emergencies.
    Ability to carry out essential and appropriate midwifery care and procedures.

    Demonstrate competence in:

    Perineal suturing, cannulation, epidural top ups, caring for people birthing their babbies in water and in the home/birth centre settings.

    Ability to monitor the quality of own and others work.
    Ability to work flexible hours to meet service requirement.
