We are seeking to appoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join our 'Achieve' additional-provision Team. The Role
The role is primarily focused on supporting the learning of vulnerable students who currently struggle to access and engage in the full 'mainstream' curriculum. The main responsibilities are leading interventions and support, to enable students to develop resilience, self-esteem and confidence so that they can re-engage fully with their learning.
You should have an interest in child centred learning, emotional intelligence and therapeutic provision. You should also have a philosophy of high-expectations being key to students having a life of choice and opportunity.
The role will involve some 1:1 mentoring and tutoring of students on a small group basis, including working with students with ASD, learning and behavioural issues, as well as emotional regulation and social difficulties.An ability to communicate effectively with both students and their parents to support their education is essential.
Experience or qualifications in working with pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential as further training will be provided. A minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths is essential.
You will play a vital role in providing a first-class service through working collaboratively with Heads of House, behaviour leads, SENDCO and student support officers. No two days are the same when working with young people The Additional Provision Coordinator will need to be adaptable, resilient, calm under pressure, self-motivated and prepared to go the extra mile to ensure students make good academic progress and are happy and safe in school.
