    Manufacturing Engineer

    Aerospace Sector

    Clevedon, Somerset

    Job Type: Full-time

    If you are a manufacturing or production engineer with experience working in a precision engineering, aerospace or machine shop environment then this could be ideal for you

    The company manufacture products for the aerospace industry and are part of a long-established international group.

    The is a key role as part of the team that supports production, new product introduction, and new equipment implementation

    Day to day of the role:

    • Provide day-to-day production support across various manufacturing processes, including turning, milling, and grinding.
    • Engage in data-driven process capability and process improvement activities.
    • Act as a customer interface for engineering changes and a technical interface with suppliers.
    • Participate in new product introduction activities, including manufacturing process and layout creation, prototyping, and serial production support.
    • Lead costing and quoting exercises.
    • Define manufacturing instructions, create CNC machine programs (CAM), and generate technical documents.
    • Support the implementation of new CNC equipment.
    • Contribute to the reduction of scrap, loss, and rework through process control and improvement.
    • Liaise with multiple functions such as Design Office, Supply Chain, Planning, Customer Service, EHS, and Quality Assurance.
    • Some international travel may be required.

    Required Skills & Qualifications:

    Experience in a manufacturing environment.

    HNC/Degree in a technical discipline.

    Proficiency in CAM program creation and management.

    Process knowledge of precision engineering, turning/milling etc

    Experience with New Product Introduction.

    NC programming experience for single and multi-functional equipment.

    Familiarity with SAP or similar ERP systems.

    Knowledge of lean or 6sigma tools.
