    Job Description

    The Director of Data Processing is accountable for ensuring the quality of our data delivery, adherence to / improvement of processes and maintaining healthy best practice and standards. The role will require in-depth technical knowledge of our software packages and tools, providing technical advice on projects, and at times hands on support will be required. Additional responsibilities include the management of an onshore team of business partners and the management / support of offshoring teams in terms of quality standards, resourcing levels and KPI monitoring.

    As a manager of people, you will have the responsibility of developing and cultivating a high performing skilled team, both onshore and offshore, which supports our company objective to be consultative, proactive and quality focused. The position requires you represent the company and our values, to lead by example and be an inspiring role model. As an escalation point, you will be asked to take full responsibility for actions and decisions in order to resolve and troubleshoot many of challenges that are unanticipated in a timely and professional way.

    You need to be self-sufficient and an adaptive individual who is experienced in managing change to support the ever changing landscape of online research and multiple initiatives. You will need to be an effective communicator and be able to build relationships with Clients and other business units in particular the Sales, Research and Client Success teams. As Director of Data Processing you will need to attend various meetings, forums and off-site technology conferences as needed in order to stay abreast of technological advancements.

    The role reports to the Director of Transformation.

    What You'll Do...

    Management of the Data Processing teams onshore and offshore

    • Onshore you will be required to perform HR related tasks, delegation and work assignment, resource allocation, staff training and development, mentoring of junior staff all with the view to building a high performing team and increasing staff satisfaction scores to the company objectives.
    • Offshore you'll be required to develop a good working relationship with the Offshore teams in order to ensure quality standards, resourcing levels and KPI monitoring.

    Cross functional collaboration

    • Maintain a culture of respectful and positive collaboration across the team you manage, and with other internal and external departments including Global.
    • Ensuring client satisfaction scores are maintained in line with company objectives with regards data delivery, and proactively managing client relations where required
    • Work closely with Sales, Research Directors and Client Success teams to ensure that our offer is clearly understood and Client requirements are clearly communicated to Offshore teams in order to meet Client expectations and deliver within budget
    • Attend and contribute to EMEA management meetings, understand company direction and strategy and integrate that into future department developments and thinking

    Operational efficiency

    • Constantly review the end to end process and collaborate with the Director of Enterprise Solutions Scripting in order to deliver on operational efficiencies to improve gross margin year on year while improving the quality of deliverables
    • Provide input into costing by ensuring that the cost calculator is correctly reflecting hours required

    Innovation and automation

    • In line with operational efficiency, we should be identifying, productising and communicating innovations in programming and data delivery capabilities to the business to drive incremental revenue opportunities.
    • Management of our outsourced vendors and their deliverables, vendor relationships and costs related to data delivery functions.
    • Maintain awareness and knowledge of industry news, events via recognised industry bodies and provide suitable guidance to colleagues and team

    Day-to-day

    • Coordinate system maintenance downtimes, upgrades of our specific software packages with internal and external staff.
    • Have expert understanding of our specific software packages.
    • The ability to design / set-up complex data delivery programmes for offshore to follow
    • Discuss appropriate solutions regarding data management and analysis techniques with client services/PM
    • Provide project support and guidance in addressing project troubleshooting needs and at times take ownership of the project to ensure the requirements are met.

    Reporting

    • Monthly progress report on department initiatives, KPIs
    • Monitor and understand product key performance indicators
    • Use data-driven insights to recommend and refine team direction under the guidance of the Transformation Director

    Communication

    • Hold regular meetings with onshore and offshore teams. Provide appropriate communication to managers and staff on project and process update and any related information.
    • Travel maybe be required for up to 10% of time in order to meet with staff and service bureau support teams

    What You'll Bring...

    • Extensive technical experience working in data processing
    • Knowledge of market research, operations and / or project management preferable
    • Proven management experience of both off shore teams and technical teams
    • In-depth knowledge of one or more Industry standard CAWI survey scripting software (Preferably Decipher, NField etc)
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel, SPSS ASCII, triple-s, XML or other data processing applications.
    • Previous experience with one or more of the following: Flash, JavaScript, HTML, SQL, advantageous
    • Working knowledge of AI, power BI, power apps, microsoft forms including the microsoft suite in order to drive innovation, process efficiency and automation
    • Proven experience in driving efficiency and process change at an organisational level.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Detail oriented, strong organizational skills with a proven ability to managing multiple projects
    • Excellent collaboration skills with ability to work closely and communicate effectively with internal colleagues across functions and directly with external suppliers/partners.
