    Location:
    Sunderland

    Duration: 6 months (initially) - Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

    Hours/week: 35 hours per week

    No previous banking knowledge is required. Contact Centre experience is preferred, but applicants from retail, hospitality, travel, or any customer-related industry are welcome. Barclays is seeking individuals with integrity, strong communication skills, and empathy.


    About the Job:
    This role offers a unique opportunity to kickstart a career with Barclays. You will undergo a comprehensive 6-8 week training programme to familiarize yourself with Barclays, banking procedures, and your role within the company. Following the training, you will join the dynamic Barclays team at the Sunderland office with a combination of on-site and remote work.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide exceptional client experience via telephony, chat, and written communication
    • Handle challenging situations related to Mortgages, digital queries, and complaints effectively
    • Assist new customers in setting up accounts for online investments
    • Ensure timely and accurate completion of client requests within established policies
    • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and third parties to resolve client inquiries
    • Make informed decisions by gathering and analyzing relevant information
    • Drive continuous improvement, share best practices, and contribute proactively in team meetings
    • Identify and escalate recurring customer issues for process enhancement
    • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and industry trends to better assist customers

    Skills Required:

    • Strong and empathetic communication skills
    • Effective organization and customer diary management abilities
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
    • Team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills
