The Lead Engineer IT builds and maintains ourdata pipelines. They utilize modern data warehouse modeling andtools particularly Talend Azure data warehouse and SQL.Additionally the ideal candidate will have SQL Server or Azure SQLand Azure Cloud experience. The Lead Engineer IT will report to theManager of Business Intelligence and works closely with other ITstaff business users and the Applications Development team todeliver business tools.

Job DutiesDesign develop and maintain ETL processes using Talend SQL Pythonand other tools
Work autonomously while still deliveringexpected results
Analyze and reverse engineer existingsolutions when required and redevelop using industrystandard bestpractices
Write and optimize SQL queries and storedprocedures for data transformation and analysis
Workwith Azure cloud services such as Azure SQL Database to design andimplement modern data warehouse architectures
Collaborate with data analysts and business users to understanddata requirements and assist in data modeling
Ensure thequality and integrity of data through testing and debugging of ETLprocesses
Document ETL processes and maintain EDWdocumentation
Validate ETL jobs are working as intendedprior to releasing to the business for use
Resolve usersupport issues for BI pipelines via Orchids ticketingsystem
Stay informed on data technology trends andprovide recommendations for future actions
Serve as atechnology liaison and provide expert evaluation regardingpotential external data tools and applications forconsideration
Travel occasionally to Orchid locations asnecessary.
Participate in afterhours support for theproduction environment including oncall support. This will includesupporting upgrades or troubleshooting activities that must takeplace outside business hours.
