North Dorset Area:


What's in it for you:


We are seeking to recruit permanent driver with a responsible and caring attitude to assist in home to School Transport in the North Dorset Area.

This is a term time only post.


What you will be doing:

Applications are invited from people living in the North Dorset area.
The hours of work could vary but are usually approx. 6 hours a day Monday to Friday split shifts morning and afternoon, transporting to and from the school
Vehicle you will be driving will be car or small mini bus with wheelchair space in it.


About you:

A category D1 101 on your driving licence is mínimal.
To have had experience of working with the children would be an advantage.

To convey passengers safely to and from their homes and other establishments, in accordance with the route schedule (with or without the assistance of an escort) having regard for their comfort and particular disability.

You will need to be physically fit enough to push wheelchairs and secure them in vehicles.


Additional Information:

DBS check for adults and children will be done as part of the driver recruitment process.
A driving assessment will need to be undertaken as part of the interview.

Term time only contracts:

We base the pro-rata salary on:

  • the number of hours
- the number of weeks worked
- paid annual leave entitlement for an employee under 5 years' service

***In the first year of service this salary may need to be adjusted to ensure you are paid accurately to reflect your holiday entitlement. A similar adjustment may be made at the point your employment ends to ensure that you are paid accurately for the number of days worked in any academic year.


This role is UK based and we will need to establish your Right to Work as part of the appointment process.
