    The Benefice of Sawbridgeworth seeks to appoint a locally funded Associate Minister (House for Duty)

    We are on a journey, seeking to renew and strengthen our Anglican community in the Hertfordshire town of Sawbridgeworth, and to grow our ecumenical work with fellow Christians. We seek an Associate Minister to walk alongside our Vicar and Lay Reader.

    This is an attractive post for a priest who wishes to devote themselves part-time (Sundays plus two weekdays) to pastoral and liturgical work, free from the tasks and responsibilities of running a parish.

    The Associate Minister will be able to draw on some great resources:

    • Grade 1 Listed historic church at the heart of a beautiful town and community
    • Worship (choral) in central, moderate catholic tradition
    • Purpose-built, three-bedroomed detached house with study and garage, next to church
    • Good road and rail links to London and Cambridge

    We are blessed to have a parish administrator, a small team of pastoral care visitors, an active and engaged PCC, and Churchwardens passionately committed to a mission-led church.

    The locally funded appointment is offered for a term of three years, reviewable and subsequently renewable on an annual basis. There is no stipend, but expenses will be reimbursed.
