    By the second year, you will be taking on a more senior role and helping to supervise the new intake of trainees.

    You will also receive internal training from the professional services learning and development team.

    Additionally, you will study towards the AAT , followed by the ACA / ACCA qualification, developing essential skills sought out in the professional services sector.

    Prepare annual financial statements including statutory accounts, predominately under FRS102. This includes consolidated financial statements for our group clients.

    Interactions with clients to undertake accounting work as required – both over telephone/e-mail and potentially occasional on-site client visits.

    Work closely with the audit and business tax teams to provide a seamless service to clients and ensure deadlines are met.

    Be prepared to share ideas about how best to operate the accounts preparation process in order to improve efficiencies for the firm.

    Prioritising tasks for your own portfolio of clients, whilst monitoring time against budget
    Planning and organisation - needed throughout the process to ensure deadlines are met.
    Use of IT – be able to work on IT packages such as CaseView and excel. An understanding of cloud accounting packages such as Xero or Exact is desirable.

    Commercial awareness - an understanding of each client's organisation, their industry and business in general assists in putting each assignment into perspective and in identifying potential risks.

    Be committed to completing the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) qualification,followed by the Association ofChartered Certified Accountants(ACCA) qualification or Associate Chartered Accountant (ACA)
