- Liaise with clients and patent office personnel, following up with attorneys and taking appropriate action as necessary.
- Act as a liaison between attorneys, clients, staff and patent offices to coordinate European and foreign patent filings, including formalities such as reporting, official correspondence and reporting issued patents.
- Respond effectively to communications from clients/foreign counsel/attorneys/ patent office personnel.
- Utilise patent office electronic filing resources and websites effectively.
- Demonstrate ability to perform research related to patent applications and filings.
- Maintain accurate case data to review and clear docket daily ensuring correctness of entries and completeness of information.
- Accurately and effectively perform varied administrative tasks, as needed.
- Process clientbillable and firm invoices as relevant.
- Utilise knowledge of clients' needs to input data and generate reports for clients and attorneys as requested.
- Utilise knowledge of firm docket system to review docket communications and provide updates daily to keep attorneys and others apprised of and prepared for deadlines.
- Maintain familiarity with attorney workloads, schedule, and projects to effectively manage, organise and prioritise tasks.
- Interact effectively with USbased departments as required to support them, the firm, and attorneys.
- Process incoming correspondence in a timely manner.
- Maintain client files (both electronic and paper) to a high standard.
- Draft correspondence and other documents to clients and other parties, as needed.
- Assist in defining and implementing office workflows, participate in Firm and office pilot projects, as relevant.
- Refer issues to Office Administrator as necessary.
