    Description

    The Business

    Our client is a manufacturing business, based in Blackpool, with an annual revenue of c. £10m. Their revenue is generated through multiple channels; trade, long-term contracts and an e-commerce platform for the general public to purchase their product line. Since launch, the latter has generated an additional £180,000 per month in the top line sales.
    The team based in Blackpool is growing at a fast pace, having increased from just 7 staff to now around 30 in the last 4 years. To accommodate this growth, they have moved a number of the finance processes toward automation, helping with work volumes. However, there is still a need for extra resources in finance to support the Finance Manager across the business.

    The Role

    Our client is currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their growing finance team, as the Bookkeeper you will be responsible for:

    • Taking care of the day to day accounting records
    • Completing the Bookkeeping up to trial balance and reconciling bank accounts, including supplier and customer accounts using multi currencies in some instances
    • Preparing and sending daily payment runs
    • Maintaining debtors and creditors, balancing stock and inputting employee expenses
    • Making sure stock matches balance sheets
    • Assisting with audits and liaising with external auditors
    • Inputting of sales invoices/ supplier invoices
    • Credit and Debtors control this will include chasing debts
    • VAT returns
    • Issuing BACs daily to the office to advise on customer payment allocations
    • Assisting with cashflow

    What they're looking for

    • Understanding of financial accounts
    • Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles and practices
    • Experience with accounting software
    • Processing international orders and large corporate invoices
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
    • Strong organisational skills to be able to prioritise workload
    • Proficient in using Excel and accounting software
    • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
