Senior Mechanical Engineering ManagerWe are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Building Services Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing mechanical building services projects from start to finish.
You will work closely with clients, contractors, and engineers to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
The successful candidate will possess a strong background in mechanical engineering, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, ranging from commercial buildings to healthcare facilities.
You will be responsible for coordinating with internal and external teams, reviewing design documents, and providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and building codes.You will be responsible for providing feasibility studies and designing solutions for minor works projects to ensure a seamless delivery.
You will project manage projects to ensure that budgets and resources are optimized to best effect and drive value from our client's property portfolio.
You will foster strong relationships across the projects team working across the various technical disciplines.You will ensure appropriate systems and procedures are utilized to effectively manage and control the delivery standards, inform and control budgets, forecast programming and undertake planning.
The post holder will be required to visit and assess works at a range of different sites and locations across the county as required by the needs of the project.
Typical properties include schools, libraries, day centers, offices, and youth centers.They will be required to lead project teams with colleagues from other specialist Property areas.
Scope of project work includes:
# Assist the project QS in determining the MEP scope for estimating the works.
# Undertake surveys, design and specification services.
# Respecting and help delivering services in accordance with best practice (and all legislation) in relation to asbestos, health and safety etc.
# Interfacing with the client and other consultants, at all project stages.
# Ensuring that key information and learning generated from each commission is input into the internal database.
# Assisting with new technology for data capture and reporting.
# Post graduate Mechanical design experience with an understanding of electrical services allowing the effective project management of MEP projects. HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent, with relevant experience in building services Mechanical engineering discipline including LTHW/CHW/DHW, BCWS, sprinklers, ventilation and drainage systems. Experience in use of design software including IES, Hevacomp, etc. Design experience with either a consultant or contractor up to stage 4 level of detail, including drawings, specifications, and schedules. Ability to collate, monitor and interpret a range of data.
