Procurement Director, Enterprise - London, United Kingdom - Vertice Group

    Default job background
    Description

Vertice is a rapidly expanding technology company on a mission to help businesses manage their growing spend on SaaS and cloud. Businesses are turning to Vertice to gain visibility and savings on their SaaS stack and cloud spend, taking advantage of pricing insights, trend data, smart dashboards and expert negotiators.

Founded by serial entrepreneurs, Roy and Eldar Tuvey, with a successful history of building SaaS startups, Vertice has already become one of the fastest growing vendors in the market. Following a remarkable 7x ARR growth in 2023, Vertice has raised a total of $51 million to date. The Series B funding round, announced in January 2024, aims to fuel global expansion and drive product innovation.

We're well positioned to achieve our mission but we need the right people to ensure it happens. We're looking to scale quickly but responsibly as we embark on an exciting new stage of growth. Headquartered in London, you'll be joining a global company and working across talented cross-functional teams to drive innovation and make a significant impact.

    The Role

The Purchasing Director ensures our customers' success by optimising their SaaS buying and renewal processes. As a vital member of the post-sales team, you will be the face of Vertice's purchasing service across a region, fostering trust and building solid relationships with key stakeholders.

This position entails leading project management, planning for customers' procurement needs, and overseeing and guiding a high-performing team dedicated to efficient and customer-centric purchasing processes. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication, navigate challenges, and highlight dependencies throughout the purchasing process.

Additionally, you will actively negotiate to secure our customers' best terms, personally driving purchasing for a select group of high-value accounts.

    Responsibilities

    Strategic Leadership & Vision:

    • Develop and communicate a regional purchasing vision and strategy aligned with company goals.
    • Set and track regional purchasing goals, ensuring accountability for delivering results.
    • Foster innovation and collaboration within the regional purchasing team.

    Talent Management & Development:

    • Manage and mentor regional team leaders, providing guidance and support.
    • Identify and develop high-potential purchasing talent within the region.
    • Measure and evaluate the performance of regional purchasing teams.

    Customer-Centricity:

    • Develop personalized purchasing strategies for major accounts, acting as a trusted advisor.
    • Coach and mentor teams on identifying and pursuing high-impact purchasing opportunities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to improve customer journey satisfaction and develop regional-specific purchasing playbooks.

    Sourcing & Supplier Management:

    • Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans, negotiate complex SaaS deals, and manage key SaaS partner relationships.
    • Oversee regional sourcing strategies, ensuring alignment with best practices and fostering a culture of innovation within the team.
    • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships across the region, leading cross-functional teams to implement effective SRM strategies.

    Requirements

    • Professional background in Strategic Sourcing, Project Management, Procurement, Vendor Management, or a related discipline in Consulting
    • Strong understanding of the SaaS business model and knowledge of the ecosystem
    • Passionate about the value of great customer service – you seek and have consistently achieved extraordinary results as part of a high energy and dynamic team for enterprise and mid-sized customers
    • You are a clear, confident and compelling communicator — in writing, in conversation and in front of customers
    • Superb listening skills and the ability to dig deeper to uncover the customer's true objectives
    • You are an expert project manager who can manage stakeholder expectations, and ensure all key objectives and timelines are met
    • Demonstrated ability to conduct compelling presentations to senior customer stakeholders

    Why join Vertice?

    • Be a part of a fast-growing, innovative startup that is changing the way businesses buy and sell SaaS.
    • Work with passionate and talented teams that value your contributions and expertise.
    • Be part of a culture that promotes a growth mindset, transparency, collaboration, understanding and diversity.
    • Share in our success with equity options.
