    Overview

    This is an opportunity to join a major multi-site UK food business as Technical Director. You will have ultimate responsibility for the company's Technical relationships with the major retailers including M&S and Tesco. This is a fast-paced chilled business already well established but with huge growth plans.

    The Role

    • Champion market-leading product quality initiatives and maintain a robust quality framework across all operational facets.
    • Cultivate strong partnerships with third-party suppliers, emphasizing sustainability and mutual benefit.
    • Interpret and implement customer policies pertaining to technical, ethical, social, and environmental concerns.
    • Facilitate effective communication channels across the organization, including customer and supplier engagements, operational reviews, and industry forums.
    • Provide up-to-date technical guidance and insights to address specific areas of responsibility.
    • Proactively monitor market trends to anticipate future needs and maintain our competitive edge.
    • Lead crisis management efforts to mitigate disruptions and safeguard brand reputation.
    • Drive research and innovation agendas in collaboration with suppliers and customers.
    • Identify and prioritize Supply Chain projects to support strategic initiatives.
    The Candidate
    • Proven track record in a similar leadership role, with demonstrated proficiency in managing technical teams and functions.
    • Extensive experience in developing and executing technical and ethical strategies.
    • Background in senior technical roles.
    • Familiarity with major UK/EU retailers' requirements and expectations.
    • In-depth understanding of industry trends and operational environments.
    • Proficiency in relevant systems and processes.
