- Adhere to policies and procedures outlined in the Swimming Pool file
- Conduct daily checks of water, signage, and buoyancy aids
- Give safety instructions to bathers at the beginning of each session
- Supervise non-lifeguarding staff during swimming sessions
- Conduct swimming tests on-site
- Maintain detailed records of swim tests and buoyancy aids
- Ensure appropriate staff levels for bather numbers
- React promptly to emergencies
- Keep the pool area secure when not in use
- Prevent accidents by anticipating and addressing potential issues
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area
- Hold a valid NPLQ certification from RLSS, STA, or HABC
- Pass the Barracudas Lifeguard Competency Assessment (LCA)
- Must be alert, physically fit, and have good hearing and vision
- Minimum age of 18
- Legally allowed to work in the UK
- Provide professional/academic references
- Obtain an enhanced DBS check
- Participate in training and induction events
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations
- Plan activities suitable for children under your care
- Encourage participation in activities
- Monitor children's behavior and well-being
- Follow camp procedures diligently
- Act as a positive role model and report any child protection concerns
- Make accommodations for children with special needs
- Promote a safe and healthy environment
- Handle equipment responsibly
- Fulfill additional tasks as required by the organization

Lifeguard Position in Summer Camp - Cobham, Surrey
Working Hours: 09:00 – 16:30
Salary Range: £431.47- £529.53 per week - depending on age, experience, and qualifications
Reporting to: Camp Senior Team, Area Manager, and Central Office
Essential Duties
Requirements
Newly hired lifeguards will receive detailed information during the Induction Training Day about the pool area and their responsibilities. It is mandatory to be familiar with all information in the Swimming Pool file before starting lifeguarding duties.
Additional Responsibilities
This position requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check in line with equal opportunities in employment policies. Certain convictions may not need to be disclosed according to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
