    About the Academy:
    Join an Ofsted 'outstanding' 11-18 mixed academy located in the vibrant community of North Northamptonshire.

    We are seeking a talented and dedicated Head of History to lead the department and inspire students to reach their full potential.


    Role Overview:

    As the Head of History, you will lead and manage thedepartment, playing a key role in shaping the academic direction of the department, driving forward teaching and learning initiatives, and ensuring the highest standards of achievement and progress for all students.

    Provide strategic leadership and vision for the History department, in line with the school's overall objectives and ethos.
    Design and deliver an engaging and challenging curriculum that promotes critical thinking, analysis, and debate across all key stages

    Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, implementing effective strategies for improvement where necessary.

    Lead on the development and implementation of assessment and tracking systems to monitor student progress and attainment.
    Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities and wider school community to promote cross-curricular initiatives and enrichment opportunities.
    Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree in a History or related discipline.
    Significant experience teaching History at secondary level, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality teaching and learning.
    A commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion within the school community.
    A passion for education and a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of young people.
