- Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.

This is a new post to increase the level of medicalsupport in the Learning Disability Service.
The Trusts Durham and Tees Valley Learning DisabilityService provides specialised community and inpatient services to adults with alearning disability alongside a range of health and social care partners.
The post also contains protectedtime for a special interest, such as medical education.
Main duties of the job
You will provide a timelyand high-quality psychiatric service as part of the community learning disabilityteam. You will provide initial assessment and ongoing reviews for adults with alearning disability who are open to the clinical team. You will provide such assessmentsin team bases and community settings as appropriate. You will attendformulation meetings, team meetings and leadership meetings as agreed in your jobplan. You will work under an appropriate level of clinical supervision for yourlevel of experience.

We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.
We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.
