    Cyber Operation's purpose is to support safe care and build public trust by building NHS England's cyber resilience and enabling the wider health system to be cyber resilient. As well as supporting the Transformation Directorate's purpose of delivering the best care and outcomes for the NHS.

    The Cyber Operations sub-directorate consists of 4 operational areas:

    • Cyber Security Operations Unit (CSOU).
    • Cyber Delivery Unit (CDU).
    • Cyber Improvement.
    • Chief Information Security Office Function (CISO).

    The CSOC, part of the CSOU, function provides centralised monitoring and response across NHS England, and the system. The CSOC consists of Threat Operations (ThreatOps), Protective Monitoring, Incident Management & response, Service Operations (ServiceOps) and Engineering.

    To support our strategy to improve NHS England's cyber resilience, we are recruiting for a Security Advisor who specialises in Service Delivery. This role is within the Service Operations pillar of the CSOC (Cyber Security Operations Centre) onboarding customers to CSOC services.

    The Role

    As a Security Advisor you will:

    Coordinate the deployment of CSOC services to customers with the Engineering, Threat Operations and Detect & Respond teams to ensure the successful onboarding of customers and systems into the CSOC's monitoring solution:

    • Oversee the smooth onboarding of entities, leveraging the CSOC teams to hit each of the key onboarding milestones.
    • Produce an Operational Service Agreement governing the cyber security incident management relationship between the CSOC and its customers.
    • Act as the primary contact for system teams/customers during the onboarding process, coordinating engagements and progress updates.
    • Liaise with the CSOC's Service Delivery function to ensure onboarded systems have met the required acceptance criteria for Go-Live and have the necessary service wrap in place.

    About you

    Important: Please be aware there are residency requirements you need to meet:

    • All NHS Digital/England Cyber Security personnel must hold security clearance SC level as a minimum. To meet National Security Vetting requirements, you must have resided in the UK for a minimum of 3 out of the past 5 years for SC clearance. Candidates who were posted abroad for service with HM Government, Armed Forces or within a UK government role - will still be considered. More information on SC clearance can be found here.

    Please make sure you meet these requirements before applying for this role. You don't need to have SC already, however, failure to achieve the requirements for SC after offer, will result in the job offer being withdrawn.

    Some of the skills and experience we're looking for:

    Information Technology (IT) Security Policies - Proven knowledge of IT security policies, standards, and procedures; ability to utilise a variety of administrative skill sets and technical knowledge to ensure cyber security compliance.

    Information Security Management - Demonstrable knowledge of the processes, tools and techniques of information security management, ability to deploy and monitor information security systems, as well as detect, resolve and prevent violations of IT security, to protect organisational data.

    Information Security Operation Centre (ISOC) - Working knowledge of modules, processes and technologies of Information Security Operation Centre (ISOC); ability to detect, response and utilise related platform and applications to perform cyber security initiatives.

    Information Assurance- Basic knowledge of and the ability to protect information and information systems while ensuring their confidentiality, integrity and availability.

    IT Governance - Knowledge of the strategies, accountability framework, organisational structure and processes used to encourage proper behaviour in IT activities and operations, and ability to implement IT systems and controls to meet business needs and requirements.
