    GoodtoKnow is an established parenting brand for UK families. Our digital-only platform is a trusted resource that supports parents with insightful and empathetic advice, as well as the latest family news.

    We're seeking an experienced News Editor to deliver high-quality content that resonates with our audience. This role will be crucial in helping to shape the voice and direction of GoodtoKnow, making it a go-to resource for parents seeking the latest news on issues that matter to families (especially those with tweens and teenagers).

    What you'll be doing...

    As the News Editor, you'll be responsible for curating, editing, and overseeing the publication of news articles that educate, interest and empower parents. You'll work closely with a talented team of writers and contributors to share content that aligns with current trends, while supporting content pyramids and e-commerce features.

    Not only will you report on the latest events and trends, you will reflect on them - sharing and commissioning first-person and opinion pieces to offer new and unique perspectives. And, you'll be up-to-date with parenting social media trends, the latest playground obsessions and the topics all the mums and dads are talking about at the school gates.

    Working alongside the Editor-in-Chief and Family Editor, you'll be tasked with coordinating the daily news agenda. This involves writing, commissioning and editing content, ensuring it meets our high-quality standards and aligns with our editorial tone and mission. You'll manage a content calendar to cover relevant and timely parenting events and seasonal trends, while also sending the daily newsletter, liaising with other content teams and reviewing print real-life stories published in the women's weeklies for reuse online.

    • Passion for the family sector, and a strong awareness of the issues that matter to parents.
    • An ability to think creatively, to consider new and unique parenting/family perspectives on the biggest news topics of the day.
    • An ability to work in a fast-paced environment, writing seamless copy to tight deadlines - while being flexible with real time changes.
    • Ability to write trend-driven high-quality content that adheres to up-to-date SEO best practice.
    • As a digital-first journalist, you'll have a keen interest in using analytic tools to monitor and improve content performance.
    • A positive and can-do attitude.

    The expected range for this role is £29,000 - £30,000.

    This is a Hybrid role from our London Paddington Office, working three days from the office, two from home.
