What we WANT
Discussion with the client : It's not just CVR's Tim it's about picking up on potential issues before they occur. Have we let all the sub-contract packages, is there any movement within the variations account, is cost versus actual on point. Is the team working well with Operations team and is everyone on the same page.
Are we heading into a dispute and will the project give us the % the job was tendered at. It's very much about lifting up the bonnet and understanding all working parts of the project and seeing issues before they manifest.
Yes this person will understand the numbers but they have to have meaningful conversations with the Project Directors & Commercial Managers to ensure we have happy clients and reach our contractual obligations.
Having the people skills to call a client or sub-contractor and have a conversation opposed to just issuing notices is key. Fundamentally this job is about people and getting everyone driving in the same direction.
