    Job Description

    An exciting opportunity has come up for a Product Designer – Cole & Mason, Culinare and Ken Hom to join our team at DKB Household, a premium housewares brand, with a portfolio of brands including Cole & Mason, Culinare, Zyliss, AdHoc, Ken Hom and Swissmar.

    The main focus of this role is to aid in the design and development of new products from initial concepts through to ready for manufacture data, whilst maintaining the brand design language, quality, functionality and market leading innovation.

    This role involves interpreting new product design briefs issued by the PM/NPD team and developing best in class, commercial, viable product design. You will be responsible for raising Critical Path Analysis (CPA) for each specific project and maintaining and communicating changes through regular communication channels and review forums. You will also take ownership for providing weekly progress updates of all NPD projects, adhering to a predefined Critical Path for each project ensuring that key milestones are met, and delays are eliminated.

    This role works closely with engineering, quality, and where necessary vendors to ensure outstanding product performance is reached and maintained on all projects in line with UK and International legislative requirements. You will also work closely with the DKB China Office / Project Engineers to ensure that design & development projects are manufacturable, processed to specification, to pre-defined performance parameters on cost and on time.

    A minimum of 3 years professional experience is required, and you must have a portfolio that showcases a thoughtful and innovative creative process. A BS or BFA in Industrial / Product Design is also desirable. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling software (preferably Solidworks) is key, along with a strong understanding of design principles with a strong aesthetic sense and understanding of color, materials, and finishes as it applies to product design. We are looking for excellent sketching and form development skills, and someone who is comfortable sketching on digital devices as well as traditional hand sketching.

    This is a full-time permanent role based at our Farnborough office (hybrid).
