Based in the West Midlands my client is one of the leading construction interiors fit-out contractor with an extensive portfolio of blue chip clients across the UK.
Specialising in workplace design, refurbishment, fit-out, design & build and relocation management they work alongside facilities departments, developers, building surveyors and commercial property agents to set industry standards in design, restructuring and refurbishment of the contemporary workspace.
The Senior Project Manager Role:
They have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to take complete responsibility from projects from cradle to grave, picking up from the sales team, defining strategy, working on the pre-construction and then working in tandem with the delivery team ensuring the project is completed and handed over to the clients satisfaction.
As the Project Manager you will develop, motivate commercial teams within your operating projects. Provide leadership and encourage value engineering and improved buildability solutions. Encourage your team to work closely with the design department to ensure cost, buildability and design are in unison. To underpin the bid process and understand the commercial requirements and transfer risk elements to the team for digesting. Develop and implement project strategy and delivery programme, ensure effective communication and implementation to deliver the project on time, ensure regular monitoring and reporting on progress, and instigate corrective actions as required.
Key responsibilities include:-
·Providing the contracting side of the business with expert advice on commercial supply chain / methods of procurement / contract terms and conditions / site preliminaries and set up to help reduce build costs.
·Preparation of financial appraisal for new development opportunities, providing clearly written reports and analysis.
·Undertake due diligence on new offerings.
·Supporting the Project Management team from concept to completion and handover
·Cost planning projects.
·Manage, control and report on projects costs throughout the project and optimize the profit margin potential.
·Work within a wider internal client team for schemes being delivered working with sales, design, marketing, finance etc.
·Collate reports for Management team and to the Board.
·Offer accurate and clear cost advice when required
·Mentor and advise team members.
·Review team performance including KPI reports.
·Make and implement difficult and / or unpopular decisions
·Discovering your management style and developing your self-awareness.
·Communication skills to all levels of the business need to be clear and well executed
·Thinking skills include Critical thinking / Reflective thinking / Logical thinking / Lateral thinking
·Managing your use of time effectively.
