An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Apprentice English Tutor at our City Centre Campus on Dumballs Road.

The Junior Apprentice Programme is aimed at key stage 4 learners who are disengaged in mainstream learning for various reasons.

Our learners come from 22 Schools across the Cardiff & Vale area and study with us for two years. The programme is vocational based giving learners the opportunity to develop skills, knowledge and qualifications in their chosen pathway. We run 5 pathways as part of the programme - Hair & Beauty, Catering & Hospitality, Multi Trades (Plumbing, Construction and Automotive), Health & Social Care and Digital Creative

In particular, the post holder will be responsible for:

  • Teaching GCSE English to the year 10 and year 11 Junior Apprentice cohort. Course tutor responsibilities of at least one JA group.
  • Undertaking of all pedagogic work such as lesson preparation, classroom teaching, tutorial work and marking.
  • Conducting student assessments in order to place students, monitor progress and identify learning support needs and exam access arrangements (EAA).
