    Shape your worldWe are looking for a Senior Researcher in our Social Digital Twin Research Group, creating new technologies for Fujitsu's global laboratories and applying our technologies to transform our customers' businesses.

    The Social Digital Twin project develops solutions to social issues.

    We create integrated technologies that combine large scale data with knowledge from a variety of fields, including data science, the humanities and social sciences.

    We are developing systems that use real-world, real-time data to create digital twins that mirror the behavior of complex systems –cities, transport, power – and enable their management.

    We are looking for a Senior Researcher who can create technologies for the Social Digital Twin and integrate research outputs into to functional end to end systems.

    The group works closely with other groups in Fujitsu Research's global network of laboratories and travel may be required to foster these collaborations.

    The output of our research is expected to be both published at top conferences and contribute to Fujitsu's businessesYour role will focus on creating end to end implementations for the SDT platform and involve:

    Developing implementations of Social Digital Twin technologies to solve real world problemsIdentifying requirements for technology demonstrations, designing solutions using SDT technologiesLinking multiple simulations into performant workflowsFinding, evaluating, and integrating data sourcesWorking closely with Fujitsu Global R&D groups to create and use SDT technologies.

    Your experienceYou will be able to demonstrate some of the following:
    Extensive Machine Learning expertise, leading technical collaboration with academia / industries for 5 years or more.

    Understanding of the principles of software engineering and proficiency in one or more programming languagesDeveloping for data driven applications for practical useDevelopment of code to implement models of social systems using a variety of simulation approaches e.g.

    Agent Based Models, data science, AIExperience to conduct the technology trial with external parties for actually solving the real-world issues with digital technologies.


    You will also need:

    A Post-Graduate qualification (preferably PhD) in a relevant field, with a strong research componentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to propose research topics by exploring potential future business opportunities Shape your world and achieve togetherWe want the best people on our team, so we welcome and encourage applications from people with a diverse variety of experiences, backgrounds and identities.
