Job Introduction
This role is a portfolio sell across digital print and creative solutions. Creating multi-platform solutions for your clients that encompass all New Scientist channels. You will be selling to both agencies and directly to clients.
You will be required to both generate new business and develop an existing client base of current and lapsed customers.
Main ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for someone who loves identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities and is extremely comfortable building meaningful relationships.
The ability to think creatively and develop new propositions in response to customers' needs is also a key requisite for this role.
Achievement of revenue targets~ Consistently achieve agreed sales revenue targets through the sale of client solutions encompassing the full range of New Scientist brand platforms (print, digital and content etc).
Prospecting and lead generation
Generation of leads and prospects through the monitoring of relevant media and events, interrogating databases and the identification of additional sources of data.
Arrangement of sales appointments with correct decision makers to generate new opportunities and advance existing opportunities through sales stages.
Meeting preparation to include thorough research of client and creative formulation of appropriate materials.Delivery of meetings to include; Effective use of allotted time to probe client needs & improve market knowledge; professional and effective use of visual aids; control of meeting through presence and agenda setting; determined closing and agreement of follow-up actions.
Ability to present to groups as well as individuals, with the use of modern presentation methods and technologies.Person Specification
Previously sold into an extensive network of direct clients and agencies.
Able to personally drive revenues and create demand from major brands and their agencies.
An exceptional communicator (written and verbal).
Able to act as the lead on key agency and client accounts, cultivating relationships with C-suite and VP-level marketers
Experience achieving group goals; and not fazed by targets or metrics
Experience generating revenue against personal targets (and love smashing them)
Understanding of digital display advertising
