    Description

    We are excited to present a unique opportunity to join HISP, a multi-academy Trust located along the South Coast, as their Chief Operating Officer (COO), internally referred to as Executive Director - Operations (EDO).

    The EDO will have a pivotal role in overseeing and driving the strategic development of HISP, which currently oversees six schools, soon to be eight.

    Responsibilities of the EDO will include ensuring smooth operational functioning across various areas such as digital technology, estates, health and safety, and communications to support educational excellence.

    This role will also be instrumental in the Trust's growth plan, particularly in integrating new schools seamlessly.

    The position involves leading three key departments: Digital, Marketing, and Estates, managing a small team directly and overseeing other school departments indirectly, in addition to coordinating with external PR consultants as needed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    This role is multifaceted and impactful. Here are the key areas of focus:

    • Operational Leadership and Management:
      • Supervise day-to-day operational activities, ensuring objectives are met effectively.
      • Develop and implement operational systems for organizational efficiency.
      • Implement quality assurance measures to maintain service standards.
    • Strategic Digital and Technology Oversight:
      • Create and execute a comprehensive digital strategy supporting educational goals.
      • Lead cybersecurity efforts to protect sensitive information.
      • Ensure efficient IT infrastructure management for scalability.
    • Estates Management:
      • Manage all school facilities to ensure safety and maintenance.
      • Oversee construction projects and compliance with health and safety regulations.
      • Ensure effective operation of the health and safety committee.
    • Communications and Public Relations:
      • Develop a communication strategy to enhance the Trust's visibility.
      • Manage crisis communications for emergencies.
      • Supervise external PR for consistent messaging.
    • Change Management and Organizational Development:
      • Lead change initiatives aligning with strategic goals.
      • Foster innovation and streamline workflows.
      • Enhance collaboration among departments.
    • Growth and Expansion:
      • Contribute to strategic growth planning and onboarding of new schools.
      • Implement processes for seamless school integration.
      • Collaborate with financial and academic planners for new school assessment.

    The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of driving change with a proactive attitude. Prior experience in Education is not mandatory; candidates from other sectors are encouraged to apply, particularly those with IT leadership experience and expertise in managing change and projects.

    Given the criticality of Health and Safety in the sector, experience in this area will be highly regarded in candidates.
