    New opportunity for an Assistant Manager or Manager to join the successful Corporate Tax team of this forward-thinking CA firm. With significant potential for advisory work, direct client relationship management, and career progression - this opportunity is not to be missed

    This firm boasts a supportive working culture, encouraging both professional and personal development in their highly motivated team members at all stages of their career. As their client portfolio and digital offering is growing and evolving, they are now seeking a new Assistant Manager to join the team. The firm are very flexible on working location, provided you are in commuting distance to their office in either Edinburgh or Glasgow for occasional client, training, and team meetings.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Oversee an impressive portfolio of corporate tax clients from a diverse range of sectors, managing deadlines and budgets as well as responding to ad hoc queries.
    • Review tax compliance and accounting as prepared by team members and offer mentorship and training to aid with their development.
    • Direct involvement with genuinely interesting advisory projects, including transactions, restructuring, capital allowances, demergers and overseas tax matters.
    • For those who are keen to strengthen their business development abilities, this role can also offer close working relationships with Partners and involvement with new client meetings and proposals. You will also be encouraged to identify advisory opportunities within your own portfolio and introduce colleagues from across the business to collaborate on wider project work.

    Requirements:

    • Ideally you will be ATT/CTA/CA (or equivalent) qualified with demonstrable experience working in UK corporate tax or UK mixed tax (essential).
    • Experience of working with SME clients would be advantageous.
    • As well as relevant tax knowledge and experience, you will demonstrate excellent research skills and the appetite to increase your tax advisory exposure.
    • Client service is paramount, and so you must be an exceptional communicator who enjoys fostering strong client relationships and delivering excellent technical advice.
