    Description

    Are you passionate about health and safety? Are you friendly, confident, and outgoing with plenty of enthusiasm and a can-do attitude? If so, we have an excellent opportunity for an independent and motivated individual to join our Property Division at Imperial.

    The role will be part of the Property Division Health & Safety Team and will perform on-site audits and develop action plans across the broad spectrum of services within the Property Division, focusing on compliance and Health & Safety.

    This role includes assisting in the management and assessment of the compliance measures undertaken by the Property Division. It involves collaborating with stakeholders to provide updates and manage owner risks for their respective areas listed on the Imperial risk register.

    The post holder will ensure that Health & Safety guidance is provided to the Property Division regarding planning, organising, controlling, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

    Additionally, the post holder will gather all necessary information from the appropriate stakeholders for the annual submission of the Estates Management Report on behalf of Imperial.


    • Respond to queries from HESA's Issue Management System

    • Utilise the HESA Heidi Plus system to extract and analyse EMR data

    • Produce and deliver precise and timely management reports

    • Monitor and report on the processes, procedures, and trends relating to facilities and property services

    • Support the management of the Property Division Risk Register

    • Assist in the development of the Property Division's Crisis Management plans and business continuity activities, and produce accurate, timely, and confidential primary Emergency Escalation contact information

    • Identify and develop applicable Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), measuring the effectiveness of services


    • Relevant degree or recognised professional qualification in a field relevant to the duties of the post or proven experience in building or facilities management

    • A recognised qualification in Health & Safety . NEBOSH

    • Experience of the development, audit and assessment of service quality, value for money and compliance in large complex departments

    • Able to work effectively within a complex and challenging organisation

    • In-depth knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and Environmental Health and its application

    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are a prerequisite of the post

    • Ability to work to tight deadlines, managing and prioritising time effectively

    • Forward-thinking, innovative, and able to anticipate and find solutions to problems

    • Proven communication and excellent influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a wide range of stakeholders, together with experience of presenting to stakeholders at meetings

    • Ability to complete work in area of responsibility within deadlines and to agreed standards with proven ability to plan and organise activities ensuring plans complement and feed into the broader annual operational plans

    • Ability to apply appropriate expertise, judgement and decision making to deliver professional services to meet the customer requirements

    • Understanding of Microsoft/Database/Web based safety management systems

    • Flexible attitude to work

    • Willingness to undertake any necessary training for the role

    • Flexible approach to working and willingness to work across all Imperial campus locations

    Contract Details:
    Salary - £44,309-£53,558 per annum
    Professional Services, Grade 3b
    1 x Permanent, Full Time
