    Health and Safety Manager

    Step into a dynamic position within a prestigious London district, where you'll spearhead the implementation of quality assurance, health, safety, and environmental (QHSE) standards. This multifaceted role demands a strategic approach to drive service excellence and uphold our commitment to QHSE principles. Working collaboratively with operational and client teams, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping and executing QHSE strategies while ensuring statutory compliance and fostering a culture of best practices.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Lead the adherence to stringent quality standards, including ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001, in alignment with organisational and client protocols.
    • Exercise autonomy within contractual parameters, guided by senior management directives.
    • Conduct comprehensive reviews of existing policies, procedures, and risk assessments, evaluating their practical application within the workplace.
    • Serve as a knowledgeable resource on QHSE matters, offering proactive support and guidance to both internal stakeholders and external partners.
    • Make informed decisions with significant contractual implications, prioritizing tasks to optimize service delivery.
    • Assume overall responsibility for service delivery as per contractual requirements, employing risk management strategies to ensure seamless operations.
    • Conduct daily site inspections, meticulously analysing performance metrics and identifying opportunities for enhancement.
    • Cultivate strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, exceeding expectations and fostering collaboration.
    • Safeguard the confidentiality of sensitive client and personnel information at all times.
    • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the site's comprehensive health and safety management system, ensuring full compliance.
    • Manage contractor activities, including permissions, inductions, and compliance with relevant regulations such as CDM.
    • Champion a culture of safety and compliance, ensuring adherence to legislative requirements, organizational policies, and risk assessments.
    • Conduct thorough audits of planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks, ensuring timely completion and accurate documentation.
    • Coordinate annual tenant and statutory inspections, compiling detailed reports and facilitating internal audits.
    • Lead accident investigations, recommending preventive measures to mitigate future incidents.
    • Drive environmental compliance initiatives, proactively seeking opportunities to minimize environmental impact.
    • Provide invaluable support for client-led events, ensuring seamless execution in line with QHSE objectives.
    • Participate in regular team meetings to review service delivery performance and establish strategic objectives.
    • Offer cross-departmental support during staff absences or periods of increased workload.
    • Stay abreast of industry developments through attendance at professional seminars and exhibitions, fostering innovation and knowledge sharing.
    • Demonstrate financial acumen by managing departmental budgets and mitigating risks effectively.
    • Identify and implement innovative strategies to enhance value and reduce costs across the contract.
    • Oversee the management team's training matrix and facilitate learning and development initiatives.
    • Source and deliver engaging training programs and toolbox talks tailored to specific QHSE requirements.
    • Flexibly accommodate additional management directives as needed to support organizational objectives.

    Additional Responsibilities:

    • Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines.
    • Foster collaborative relationships with client counterparts, providing regular reports and attending meetings as required.
    • Chair and lead the Safety Action Group, driving safety initiatives and promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Exude confidence and professionalism in client-facing interactions, embodying the values of our organisation.
    • Serve as a motivational team player and leader, inspiring colleagues to achieve collective success.
    • Demonstrate a genuine passion for QHSE, advocating for its importance and embedding it within organizational culture.

    Requirements:

    • Proficiency in advanced PC skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
    • Comprehensive understanding of relevant health and safety legislation and industry standards.
    • Knowledge of sustainability practices within the industry and familiarity with Building Safety Act Regulations and fire safety protocols.
    • Experience with online compliance risk management systems, demonstrating proficiency in their utilization.
    • Certifications in working at height, CDM, asbestos awareness, and Legionella responsible person.
    • Valid IOSH Managing Safely certification.
    • Preferably MBIFM certification.
    • Current certifications in First Aid at Work/Mental Health First Aid.
    • NEBOSH or equivalent certification, indicating a strong foundation in occupational health and safety practices.

    Desirable: Chartered Membership of IOSH, reflecting a commitment to professional excellence and continuous learning.
