    Description

    We're looking for a Data Analyst to work with and support a Solution Architecture team with definition of mappings across our integration architecture.

    The successful applicant will be comfortable:

    • Accessing and analysing a database without any documentation
    • Applying functional context and analysis to understand how the data is structured
    • Documenting the data structure
    • Supporting Solution Architects and developers in designing and developing solutions that implement the mappings the analysis has identified

    What You'll Spend Your Time Doing

    The key responsibilities of the role are:

    • Analysing databases to support mapping of physical data models from one application DB to another
    • Working with business users to understand the business scenarios/use cases and how these are reflected in the data
    • Drafting changes to logical data models for review/approval by the Enterprise Data Architect
    • Documenting mappings and working with the Architecture team to get these reviewed/approved
    • Supporting development and test teams in building and testing based upon mappings
    • Working with application teams to create application level designs and detailed implementation estimates

    What We Need From You

    The key experiences expected for the role are:

    Mandatory

    • Experience of working within Insurance – ideally with some London Market experience
    • Experience of data analysis within databases with limited documentation and support
    • Significant experience with MS SQL

    Optional/Beneficial

    • Ability to convey complex technical ideas/solutions to both business and technical colleagues
    • Experience of process definition
    • Experience using Infosphere/FastTrack

    What Can You Expect From Us?

    • Performance Related Discretionary Bonus
    • Holiday : 28 days core annual leave, and you can buy or sell up to 5 days
    • Pension: A minimum 2% employee contribution plus 7% MS Amlin contribution (9%) up to a maximum of 5% employee contribution plus 13% MS Amlin contribution (18%)

    • Life Assurance : 10 x annualised base salary
