Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experience nurse to join the Myeloid multidisciplinary team based at the Churchill Hospital in Oxford. The Myeloid MDT provides care for local patients and tertiary level care for the Thames Valley region. The team includes a Band 6 specialist nurse and clinical and academic medical staff . The post holder will liaise with the inpatient, outpatient, ambulatory, BMT and research teams, primary care and regional hospitals. Patient-centred care is our priority, so our patients receive high class, personalised treatment.
Patients looked after by the team include those with acute leukaemia (AML and ALL) together with a range of myeloproliferative disorders including CML, myelofibrosis, essential thrombocythaemia and polycythaemia. The treatment of these disorders is going through an era of rapid progress and development; this gives the post-holder the opportunity to support and develop a world-leading clinical service for this group of patients.
