    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Wood have a fantastic opportunity to join our dynamic Finance team in Aberdeen, Scotland. This role is available as a permanent full-time position or a 1-year fixed term contract to support the Senior UK Finance Manager and UK Finance Business Partners.

    This role is an ideal progression for a Senior Accountant and involves team management.

    The chosen candidate will oversee a team of Accountants to ensure precise accounting, reconciliation, and reporting of essential financial data to facilitate performance monitoring, improvement initiatives, cash collection, and governance across key client contracts. They will effectively manage resources, deadlines, and business needs for all Service Lines/Contracts.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Lead and supervise a team of Senior Accountants in delivering accurate and timely month-end close activities, including:
      • Accrual, unbilled, and unearned entries calculation within Wood corporate deadlines and compliance with accounting standards
      • Preparation of monthly management accounts covering various financial aspects
      • Balance sheet reporting to ensure accuracy and actionable insights
      • Analysis and enhancement of Days Sales Outstanding (DSO)
      • Oversight of month-end close activities for comprehensive results
      • Organize workloads to meet deadlines and ensure exceptional service
    • Ensure compliance with business information requests, forecasting activities, and manage relationships with key stakeholders
    • Monitor Time to Bill (T2B) metrics, supervise team tasks including timesheets, holidays, and performance management
    • Focus on people development, continuous improvement, and adherence to company policies
    • Track financial performance, Days Sales Outstanding, staff morale, and corporate submissions compliance

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Fully qualified with relevant professional certifications
    • Extensive experience in accounting/business with a background in team management and talent development
    • Strong commercial acumen and proficiency in ERP systems, Excel, and PowerPoint
    • Technical expertise, organizational skills, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving abilities
    • Customer-focused, adept at clear communication across all levels, and eager to drive improvements
