    Description

    The postholder will be required to organise logistics operations across trust sites, but predominantly at Midland Metropolitan University Hospital.

    All aspects of Logistics operations will be covered to ensure the efficient processing of all goods and containers delivered to and returned from the receipts and distribution area.

    The postholder will be responsible for ensuring the effective organisation of a busy team and schedule and ensuring accurate completion of documentation and reporting of any discrepancies or shortages.

    Main duties of the job The postholder will take responsibility for the development of the integrated Logistics service across all Trust sites, supporting the Logistics optimisation workstreams.

    Main duties will include:
    • Ensuring the delivery of supply management services across all relevant areas, including all relevant distribution and handling services for the Trust.
    • Helping to embed a culture of collaborative working between Logistics and customers
    • Developing the optimal schedule for operation of the Automated Guided Vehicles at Midland Metropolitan Hospital.
    • Working with stakeholders, suppliers and couriers to ensure backlogs do not develop.
    • Maintaining safe stock levels across all sites.
    • Encouraging the team to deliver the best possible service.

    Job description Job responsibilities The postholder is responsible for ensuring the logistics function is optimised across the Trust.

    It is essential that suppliers are managed and that bottlenecks do not occur. All deliveries must be scheduled and managed and stock levels must be maintained at an appropriate level.

    The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring that the automated guided vehicles are utilised effectively.

    There is responsibility for the management and development of all staff within the Logistics function. The Site Manager will help with the recruitment of staff for the department and will provide expert professional advice to others in the Procurement & Logistics teams

    The Site Manager will ensure that time and resources are managed through effective teamwork, leadership and motivation across the Logistics Service. Person Specification Qualifications Essential
    • Diploma or equivalent qualification / experience
    • Must have a current driving licence
    • Must have GCSE (or equivalent ) in mathematics and English or demonstrable experience of using English and mathematics in a customer focused environmen
    Desirable
    • Fork-lift truck licence
    • Supervisory qualification

    • Must have an advanced ability to work and manage good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including staff and suppliers

    • Must demonstrate an ability to order, manage, store and deliver stock to optimise stock levels
