    Principal Sustainability and Climate Change Consultant
    Full time Bristol
    This is an outstanding opportunity to join our highly influential Smart Energy and Sustainability team.

    Right now, we're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced principal sustainability & climate change consultant to join our team.

    You'll be part of our collaborative and growing team across the UK and will help with the development and delivery of a pipeline of exciting and complex projects.

    Working with client teams to identify opportunities for sustainable design measures and energy and carbon reduction initiatives including hosting project workshops and attending meetings.

    Coordination of technical disciplines for early and effective incorporation of climate change within EIA.

    Preparation of high-quality energy, sustainability and climate change reporting to provide advice to clients and project teams and support planning and EIA applications.

    Effective data management including setting up and maintaining project databases and calculation sheets.
    Participating in relevant external expert forums to advance and standardise environmental sustainability performance quantification.
    Training and upskilling junior team members on relevant workstreams and project management activities.

    Background in one, or more, of these areas: environmental planning; climate change; town planning; urban planning; urban design; Experienced project leader experience in a similar role.

    Significant working knowledge of environmental impact assessments (EIA), with specific experience delivering sustainability and climate change expertise to Environmental Statements, unlocking new developments for clients.

    Experience contributing to an EIA on a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIPs) and/or Developments of National Significance (DNSs).

    We're helping clients to unlock cheaper, cleaner, and more reliable energy and maximise the potential economic and environmental value of their projects, whilst delivering on wider environmental and sustainability principles.

    Net-zero carbon studies at project and masterplanning levels
    Sustainability appraisal and strategy development at masterplanning levels
    Planning application support documents including energy and circular economy statements and environmental assessments
    Climate change studies on physical risk and adaptation
    ESG strategy and/or Sustainability frameworks for organisation
    Power procurement and infrastructure delivery planning
    Renewable energy development and consultancy
