    JOB TITLE: Senior Product Owner - BI as a Service

    SALARY: The salary banding for this role is £73,262 - £86,190 for Bristol and £86,964 - £102,310 for London

    LOCATION: Bristol is the preferred location but we would consider London for the right candidate

    HOURS: 35 hours, full time

    WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

    About this opportunity

    The purpose of the Senior Product Owner - BI as a Service (SPO) is to drive the development and delivery of Business Intelligence to support our Self Service Analytics strategy and the needs of our customers. The SPO is responsible for supporting teams to deliver their best work, and for shaping initiatives that solve problems.

    The SPO is a senior management role in the Business Intelligence as a Service Lab which is part of our AI and Analytics Service Platform. We lead, design, build, and operate the bank's Machine Learning, Data Science and Analytics solutions.

    We want to make the bank of the future safer, faster, and more effective. We're realising a future where machine intelligence/AI takes away repetitive manual effort and instead provides insight and direction to our colleagues, empowering them to do more, with less effort.

    As an SPO you'll take responsibility for:

  • Gathering detailed product requirements from our stakeholders
  • Defining the product roadmap, including Jira initiatives, epics, stories, and owning the Jira backlog
  • Working with a team of engineers, clarifying the product vision, acceptance criteria, and priorities
  • Aligning and drafting the delivery plan, including timelines
  • Reporting on delivery progress to the stakeholders and the leadership team, highlighting risks and issues in a timely manner and recommending approaches for resolution
  • Building effective relationships with stakeholders & teams that lab depends on.
  • Collaborating with the team of engineers & the Integrator on identifying & implementing the necessary governance steps.
  • Line Management of other Technical Product Owners in the team

    What you'll need

  • A product mindset with prior experience as Product owner or Product Manager
  • Strong commercial experience of Business Intelligence
  • Experience of delivering complex changes in a large enterprise
  • Experience of using agile techniques to delivery technology change
  • Clear and articulate communicator, with a proven track record of dealing with all levels in large blue chip organisations
  • Proven leader of large teams

    • Desirables:

  • Experience of Financial Services
  • Capable of negotiating/leading 3rd party supplier relationships
  • Experience of using Jira and Jira Align
  • Experience of Tableau, Power BI or Looker
  • Experience of working with offshore centres
