    Job Description

    This is an opportunity for a Contracts Engineer to work with our client who own and operate the Fawley refinery and petrochemical complex. The Contracts Engineer will be responsible for developing, executing and implementing contracting strategies for a portfolio of turnaround services contracts.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Work closely with the clients procurement, technical / operations resources, and Contractor commercial / management teams.
    • Develop and implement contracting strategies to maximize commercial value.
    • Own the contracting strategy for a portfolio of contract services, identifying and driving opportunities for change and improvement.
    • Ensure procurement plans for contract tender/renewals are aligned with contracting strategies, business objectives, and site priorities.
    • Act as the focal point of contact to procurement throughout the contract lifecycle, including tender preparation, negotiations, and contract implementation.
    • Lead the management of change for the implementation of new site contracts.
    • Provide ongoing commercial support during the contract lifecycle, including amendments, contract terms clarification, and resolution of claims.
    • Promote improvement through collaboration, including networking and peer assists with Contracts Engineer peers and agreement owners/users.
    • Maintain core procedures and documentation within the commercial group.

    Required Qualifications & Competencies

    • Good knowledge of the purchase to pay process and associated controls and of the relevant technical work scopes.
    • Working knowledge of maintenance & turnaround contract technical disciplines.
    • Influence, persuasion, and negotiation skills.
    • Strategic thinking, decision making, and business judgment.
    • Communication skills.
    • Technical / contract writing skills.
    • Adaptability to changing priorities and time constraints.
    • Safety, security, and controls awareness.
    • Project management capabilities.

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Development of contracting strategies that deliver commercial advantage.
    • Complete tender and implementation in line with defined timeline / PIP.
    • Customer satisfaction results regarding contract structure (fit for purpose).
    • Cost savings / value adds initiatives.

    This role is Inside IR35. Candidates can operate via an Umbrella company or on a PAYE basis.
