    Description

    Health, Safety & Wellbeing Support role at Midlands-based Aggregates and Concrete Business

    The role entails providing the necessary health, safety, and wellbeing support to an aggregates and ready mixed concrete business in the Midlands region. It is a remote position with autonomy to address the business's H, S & W needs effectively.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Support the management and development of the Company IMS and associated database systems.
    • Conduct thorough investigations of accidents and incidents, providing preventive measures.
    • Liaise with engineers, managers, and contractors to ensure compliance with standards.
    • Act as a primary contact for health & safety regulatory bodies.
    • Collaborate with employees and contractors for regulatory compliance and improved H&S performance.
    • Ensure consistent H&S management across all Company operations.
    • Monitor and report on H&S performance in the area of responsibility.
    • Advise on compliance requirements and SHE regulations.
    • Attend and advise safety, health & wellbeing committees as required.
    • Promote sustainable behavior and practices on operational sites.

    Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

    • NEBOSH diploma/certificate or equivalent H&S qualification.
    • Working knowledge of SHE legislation and ISO management systems.
    • Experience in a similar role, preferably in quarrying/construction materials.
    • Full clean driving license.
    • Experience in maintaining health, safety & environmental management systems.
    • Liaison with external organizations and regulatory authorities.
    • Involvement in occupational health surveillance programs and incident investigations.
    • Conduct audits of health and safety procedures.
    • Work towards IMS environmental and sustainable best practices.
    • Desired: IOSH/IEMA membership, Certified auditor, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques.
